Requirements

CHOOSE YOUR PATH.

Creative

Calling all creators. Time to CREATE! Your creative skillset will be key for this track. A completed submission could be a design mockup, a generative art collection, or a clothing brand concept, for example.

No-code

No-Code submissions can be centered around strategy, building a product using popular no-code tools, pitch-decks, & more. We prioritize the thoughtfulness and originality of your submission.

Technical

Technical submissions are about building the best hack possible — classic hackathon style. We're looking for hackers that like to ship. Show off your dev skills & create, innovate, & iterate through code!

Sponsor Challenges & Bounties

In addition to the above, we also have challenge projects in each path from our sponsors, with challenge-specific bounty prizes.

Decentraland - Scene Construction - 1 Land Plot Reward ($1,500 Value)

Create a simple Decentraland scene, featuring a point-and-click quest. The scene can include interactive objects and NPCs, taking the player through an engaging narrative and/or stimulating puzzles.

We encourage the formation of multidisciplinary teams for tackling this challenge. The team might include developers as well as 3D artists and creative writers.

Additional guidelines:

  • You don’t need to own land or a Decentraland Name to participate. Winning scenes will be published to Decentraland Worlds.
  • The scene can borrow code or art from existing example scenes. If this is the case it must be clarified in the submission. Fully original creations will receive extra credit.
  • The scene can take up multiple parcels. The entirety of the publishable content must stay within the limit of 300 MB (not counting the /node-modules folder).
  • Scenes need to include something interactive. Interactivity can be achieved by having the player perform actions like clicking, walking into triggers, etc. and have some kind of meaningful effect on the scene content. It’s also valuable if the scene connects to external APIs. We also encourage scenes that utilize blockchain technology in one way or another.
  • Creators will retain all the rights to assets and code after submitting.
  • If the instructions for players aren’t self-evident when entering the experience, you should provide instructions, either in-world or in the submit form.

Tool Kit:

Submit instructions:

There are three different ways in which you can submit your Decentraland scene for this challenge:

  1. Share a link to a GitHub repository with your scene. PS: Make sure to make this repository public!
  2. If you own LAND or a NAME in Decentraland, you can publish your scene there, and just share a link to your scene
  3. You can upload a .zip file with the full contents of your scene
